From Brazil to Australia 

Originally from Brazil, Mateus and Monique Cemal migrated to Australia in 2005. They arrived in Sydney with their two children, aged 10 and 8 at the time. Both continued to progress careers in organisations in Australia including Big W and Woolworths. They had also brought with them their entrepreneurial spirit, having worked in their own businesses in Brazil. 

Having settled in and received citizenship in 2007 their journey into business was inspired by a personal event. A close relative to Mateus got sick. Taking on carer responsibility opened his eyes to the challenges that he hadn’t experienced before. Driving around Sydney to see specialists and to various pharmacies to find the right advice and assistive products to bring back a sense of normality to life.

With that experience, Mateus was inspired to create his own medical supplies and equipment business. The initial offerings included innovative products such as flavoured plastic tongue depressors but has grown to over 5,000 products to date.
