What is ChatGPT and why do we care?

The future is upon us. Unlike cryptocurrencies and blockchain, this is way easier to explain. ChatGPT stands for “Conversational Generative Pretrained Transformer”. In simple terms, this is a highly trained robot that can answer questions with way more accuracy and detail than you’d ever expect.

It’s not perfect but can help answer questions in a way you have not experienced before with a computer. Think of the smartest person you know and combine this with the superpower of all the knowledge on the internet plus the ability to answer this in real time.

Here’s an example:

What are the NDIS Practice Standards in 100 words

Answer

The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Practice Standards are a set of guidelines that outline the minimum requirements for service providers under the NDIS. The standards cover areas such as service delivery, support coordination, individualized planning, participant engagement, complaint handling, and safeguarding. The NDIS Practice Standards aim to ensure that participants receive high-quality services that meet their individual needs and support their goals. The standards promote ethical and professional practices, and help to safeguard the rights and interests of NDIS participants. Service providers are expected to comply with the NDIS Practice Standards as a condition of their registration with the NDIS.

Here’s an even better example to demonstrate why schools want this banned:

Write a 100 word poem on the NDIS

Answer

A promise to care, an inclusive plan,

For those with disabilities, a helping hand.

NDIS, a beacon of hope, so bright,

Guiding individuals to their dreams, with sight.

With individualized support, they soar,

Their potential unlocked, forever more.

Opportunities for growth, with pride,

NDIS, by their side, a helping guide.

No longer limited, they can be free,

A life without barriers, for all to see.

NDIS, a symbol of a better way,

For those with disabilities, each and every day.

The application of this technology will be broad and potentially disrupt the jobs of knowledge-based workers. Stay tuned!
