Managing Conflicts of Interest as an NDIS Provider

From May to July 2024, the NDIA engaged with NDIS participants, their families, carers, providers, and disability organisations. These sessions aimed to gather insights into the experiences people have had with conflicts of interest and to identify what resources would be most helpful in managing these conflicts.

Co-Design Feedback
Based on the feedback from these co-design sessions, the NDIA has been developing a comprehensive suite of resources designed to support participants and educate the NDIS market. These resources are intended to provide practical tools and information to help manage conflicts of interest effectively.

Key Resources to keep an eye out for!
Here are some of the key resources that will soon be available:

  • NDIA Position Statement on Conflicts of Interest
This document outlines the NDIA’s stance on conflicts of interest within the NDIS provider market.
  • Support-Specific Factsheets
These factsheets include case studies that describe common conflict of interest situations, providing real-world examples and solutions.
  • Checklists
Practical checklists to help manage conflicts of interest, ensuring that all parties are aware of their responsibilities and the steps they need to take.

The NDIA aims to publish these resources, including the NDIA Conflicts of Interest Position Statement, in the coming months. These tools will be valuable for NDIS participants, their families, carers, and providers, helping to foster a more transparent and fair NDIS provider market.

Stay tuned for more updates and make sure to utilise these resources once they are available.
